Sorry it has taken me a while to update our blog... but I have been busy. Our baby boy was born on December 10th at 1 pm here in Dothan, Alabama! He is a precious angel! I was induced on December 9th and Cruz was born via C-section on December 10th. After getting to almost 7 cm dilated, Cruz's heart rate started slowing after my contractions... and my doctor was very concerned. She thought it best to just get Cruz out via C-section because pushing puts a lot of stress on the baby and since his heart rate was already slowing, she didn't think it was wise to put him through that. Once they completed the surgery, the doctor found that the umbilical cord was wrapped around Cruz's neck which was what was causing his heart rate to slow. Its been almost 3 weeks now since his birth and both Cruz and me are doing great. I have healed up nicely and he is learning how to live in this world.
Cruz is a gift from God and I feel so blessed to have such a perfect baby. I just sit here for hours and stare at his beautiful face and think about how lucky I am. I cannot wait to see what an amazing man he develops into. I have attached some pictures from the day he was born. Stay tuned for more updates on our life with this perfect little angel!
